don’t need digsby anymore… i’ve added the Facebook Chat plugin to pidgin

so in an attempt to remove my reliance on itunes, i’ve downloaded songbird (it’s still only in beta RC1, but i’m willing to give it a try)

1st problem i had was linking to my windows share of the mp3’s to import everything into my library. Easiest solution was to create a permanent share of the network folder and import everything through that

i’m trying to make a concerted effort to use ubuntu full time now, and generally only use windows when i want to run itunes or digsby.

i know there are hundreds of ‘make the switch to ubuntu’ blogs and guides, so any posts on ubuntu here, will be more of a repository of the problems i’ve encountered and where i found the answer…

modding the keyboard was easy enough - might have been a bit easier if i’d just forced the keys out instead of taking the whole keyboard apart.

(bit of a break in typing to swap around the @ and / keys)
